Phoenix Orion

Our Brooklyn-born designer Phoenix Orion began as a break dancer and a graffiti artist. He started doing dance choreography in the early 80s for groups like Kid & Play, Kwame and Heavy D.

He won at the Apollo theater six times in a row and was featured in the daily news article. He and his brother also won 1989 America’s Dopest Dancer award at the New Music Seminar in New York City.

From there, famous actor Michael Williams, who was featured on The Wire, introduced him into the world of modeling. His first gig was with a company called Rock Embassy they made tour apparel for NWA, Ice T, Public Enemy, Naughty by Nature, and Cypress Hill. 

He is one of the original models for cross colors clothing and Karl Kani. Hes done New York City fashion week runway shows and also modeled for Karl Kani, Calvin Klein and Phat Farm.  

After modeling he got his first scenes in a movie, New Jack City. He signed a deal in the early 90’s got a couple of gold and platinum records.

Most recently he has moved to Las Vegas and became a DJ then an author.

Now he is the bringing his hip hop cultural roots full circle and blending his art with sneakers. Prevail is designed by Phoenix Orion for those that are determined, trend setting and ready to Prevail.
